This was an experiment we did in drawing class--when I was actually taking art in college. Our assignment was to predict how we would look at age 70 or so, and, using the traits of our mothers and grandmothers, mixed with our facial features at this young age, draw ourselves old. It worked out really well; I loved this assignment, and I'm still working on it (it's bigger than shown here--includes body and all). All cross hatching for shading.
My father has been trying to get me to illustrate his children's book for a while. I've come up with some sketches and I'm thinking of trying watercolor and colored pencil mixing to make some nice little pictures.
Frederik is the main character. He climbs trees and has an extensive personality.
