Pretty troll-jente

Skiing is fun

Roger tells his dad he has to go pee .. after a long process of putting on sweaters and jackets and thermals and pants and boots and hats and gloves, etc. (unfinished)

skiing with daddy

Hot chocolate .. mmm.

Roger, too impatient to wait for morning, tries on his new skis in the living room.

The story moves on..

The story moves on to tell about the family and the adventures of Roger. Here are a few of the newer sketches I have. I move slowly--and I'm working to change that. I have, however, developed a sort of style in these illustrations I think, and that will undoubtedly help with future drawings. Hopefully this book will be published in not too long--they are just waiting for me now.

Bestemor

Bestemor, she's the newest version of sketches I'm working on. I changed styles a bit, and am going to get more updated versions on here.

Not really a sketch.. but.

So this one isn't finished. It's a watercolor sketched out and partially done. Just gotta finish it up and it'll be good to go. The story behind it is traveling Italy. ..

Just playing

Pastels and colored pencils. It's a small 10x7 drawing that isn't very original but I made it late at night as therapy from stressful studying.

These are some sketches I did the other day (tuesday) -- Some of us are trying to get together each tuesday to do some art. School's taking up a lot of time and so this is our escape. I'm working on sketching in colored pencil because it makes me practice drawing without erasing, being quick, yet observant and careful. Plus, I love Tuscan Red. The girl drawn is Julia.

Self portrait as an elderly lady

This was an experiment we did in drawing class--when I was actually taking art in college. Our assignment was to predict how we would look at age 70 or so, and, using the traits of our mothers and grandmothers, mixed with our facial features at this young age, draw ourselves old. It worked out really well; I loved this assignment, and I'm still working on it (it's bigger than shown here--includes body and all). All cross hatching for shading.

These are some sketches I've been messing around with a little. They're fun.

Sketches of mine

My father has been trying to get me to illustrate his children's book for a while. I've come up with some sketches and I'm thinking of trying watercolor and colored pencil mixing to make some nice little pictures.

Frederik is the main character. He climbs trees and has an extensive personality.
